How to Setup a Secure Windows Wireless Network
Setting up a secure wireless network protects your home computers from someone piggybacking off of your network signal and accessing your computers to steal personal data. Use the wireless settings of your wireless router to secure the network against threats, instituting a required password for all network users.

Open "Start," "Programs," and open your Internet browser.

Type in the router's address, which can be found in the instruction manual for your router. This is normally something like 192.168.1.2.

Enter your username and password for your router.

Click on "Wireless Settings" and select "Security." Select "WPA" from the security type and enter a desired password to secure your network.
