How to Create a Personal Website on Yahoo
Yahoo allows users to create a personal website using the Yahoo SiteBuilder. The SiteBuilder also includes a Site Creation Wizard that walks users through the different aspects of creating a personal website on Yahoo. After setting up the basics with the Site Creation Wizard, the Yahoo SiteBuilder program allows users to create a professional website and publish it to the Internet.

Download, install and run the free Yahoo! SiteBuilder using the link in Resources. Click "Create a New Site" from the Help window on the left side of the screen.

Click "Start" to begin the Wizard. Enter a site name and choose where to save the site.

Select a template and click "View Full Size" to see a preview of the page. Click "Next" to choose a template.

Put a check mark in the appropriate boxes to tell SiteBuilder which types of pages to include. Click "Next" to have SiteBuilder create the pages.

Click inside an editable text box to begin inserting text into the page template. Text can also be inserted anywhere in the page by clicking the "Insert Text" button on the toolbar. Click the "Format" menu to select different formatting options for each text object. Formatting options allow users to change the font and style of a text object, as well as check the text's spelling for errors.
Inserting Images

Click the "Insert an Image" button on the toolbar to insert a new image into a page. The icon looks like three small triangles, and is located right next to the "Insert Text" button.

Click the radio button to select "My Images" to insert an image from the computer's hard drive. Click the radio button to select "Clip Art" to insert a SiteBuilder clip art image. Click on an image and select "OK" to insert the image into the page.

Click and drag the image to reposition it on the page. To re-size the image, click on the image and then click and drag one of the small black squares surrounding the image.
Adding a Link

Click and drag the mouse cursor over a word or line of text to select it, then click the "Link to..." button on the toolbar. Select the type of link and enter the URL of the destination where the link will direct users when clicking on it. Click "Create" to insert the link in the page.

Click "File" from the menu and select "Save Page" to save the changes to the current page, or click "Save All Pages" to save the changes made to all of the pages on the site.

Click on the "Preview in Browser" button from the toolbar to show a preview of what the current page will look like once it's published to the Web.

Click the yellow button labeled "Publish" from the toolbar to begin the site-publishing process. Select a destination URL to publish the page and click "OK" to publish.
