Instructions

Obtain a Canadian passport from Passport Canada. Processing for a Canadian passport will take up to two weeks if you apply directly at the office and four weeks if you send in your application through the mail from the U.S. or via an agent. To be approved for a Canadian passport, you must at least have residency immigration status with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, which requires a minimum of three years residing in the country.

Apply to become a flight attendant directly through the Canadian airline you wish to work for, not the airport. Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz, Air Transat, CanJet, Canada North and WestJet are just a few of the Canadian airlines that fly into and out of Ontario. IBT College in Toronto is the only school in Ontario that offers a flight attendant education program. The experience may be helpful in your application process for a flight attendant position, but it is not necessary.

Begin training at the airline you have been hired for. You will learn the airline's customer service policies and in-flight safety procedures for yourself and passengers. According to Canadian Aviation Regulations, every major airline must maintain a flight attendant training program that meets the standards of Transport Canada. According to Transport Canada, even if you have prior training or experience outside of the airline you work for, you are still required to undergo the Canadian airlines training program. The paid training can last up to eight weeks, depending on the airlines' training program.
