Google search history is different from the search history that your browser records. If you create a Google account and turn on the search history function, Google will remember all of your Web searches. This comes in handy when you need to access your search history from any place that has an Internet connection. You can also search the full text of every site in your search history list.To stop Google from remembering your Internet search activity, turn off the search history function in your Google account.

      Navigate to the Google Accounts page as listed in Resources.

      Enter your sign-in information and click "Sign in." Your web history window will appear. There you will see everything that you have searched for while the search history function was enabled.

      Click "Pause" on the left side of the screen. Google will stop remembering your search history. Google search history also remembers every site that you visit on the Internet. By turning off search history, you will also stop Google from recording all of your Internet browsing activity.

Tips & Warnings

  • To turn the Google search history function back on, visit your search history page and click "Resume." You can also remove individual items from your Google search history.
