THe Florida Board of Nursing can assist you in obtaining your RN degree in Florida.

If you have a goal of gaining a registered nurse (RN) license in Florida, the Florida Board of Nursing has streamlined the process to obtain the license. The key to getting a RN license in Florida is to pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). If you're a new graduate of an accredited nursing program and have not yet taken the NCLEX, the Florida Board of Nursing will approve you to take the NCLEX once your application has been approved. If you're an out-of-state RN looking to transfer your RN license to Florida, the Florida Board of Nursing can also help you to complete the process.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete a three-hour HIV/AIDS course and a one-hour domestic violence course from an approved continuing education facility before applying for a Florida RN license. A waiver may be granted if an affidavit is submitted to the Florida Board of Nursing to show good cause on why you will be unable to take the HIV/AIDS and domestic violence courses prior to applying for a RN license. Good cause would be proof that you were living outside of Florida or have been on active military duty.
