How to Install a Wireless Network Card for a Dell Dimension 8200
You can add a wireless card to a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop computer to allow it to access a wireless network in your home or office. If you choose to use a PCI wireless card, you will have to open the case and install the card. If you choose to use a USB adapter, opening the case will not be necessary. However, the older USB ports will limit the speed of the wireless connection to 12 Mbps instead of the 54 Mbps to 300 Mbps that wireless is capable of.

Tips & Warnings
If you are connected to a corded network, disconnect the cable if you want to use wireless exclusively.
You may have to reconfigure the firewall to authorize others to connect to your computer.
Do not purchase a PCI-E (Express) network card, as the Dimension 8200 does not have PCI-E slots.
