Instructions

    • 1

Place as much of the extension cord as possible along a wall, under a table or beneath a couch. This will minimize the trip hazard.

    • 2

Slide the extension cord through the opening in the extension cord cover. Extension cord covers often hold more than one cord, so slide a few through the cover to keep them organized and untangled.

    • 3

Place the covered cord as far away from traffic as possible. If this is not possible, tape the extension cord cover to the ground.

    • 4

Rip small pieces of duct tape and tape any uncovered cord that is a trip hazard to the ground.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unplug the extension cord and put it away when it is not in use.

  • Extension cords should only be used for temporary wiring, according to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.

  • Never use extension cords that are frayed or have exposed wires.
