How to Protect an Extension Cord From Traffic
If you have several electronics in your house, you probably use extension cords. Extension cords are long power cords that allow you to plug up to three electric cords into them. The extension cord is then plugged into the wall. However, extension cords can be a trip hazard, especially in high-traffic areas of your home. Place as much of the extension cord as possible along a wall, under a table or beneath a couch. This will minimize the trip hazard.

Slide the extension cord through the opening in the extension cord cover. Extension cord covers often hold more than one cord, so slide a few through the cover to keep them organized and untangled.

Place the covered cord as far away from traffic as possible. If this is not possible, tape the extension cord cover to the ground.

Rip small pieces of duct tape and tape any uncovered cord that is a trip hazard to the ground.

Unplug the extension cord and put it away when it is not in use.
