Clean your HP Dv5020us laptop keyboard regularly to prevent build-up of dirt and debris which affects the performance of the keys. You should use a vacuum brush attachment to remove any loose dirt and isopropyl alcohol to wash away germs and sticky spills. Maintain the keyboard's cleanliness by washing your hands before using the keyboard and keeping food and drinks away from the laptop.

Things You'll Need

• Vacuum with brush attachment
• Lint-free cloth
• Cotton swabs
• Isopropyl alcohol

Instructions

1. Turn off and unplug the HP Dv5020us laptop. Attach the brush attachment to the vacuum.

2. Vacuum the keyboard, gently pushing on the keys to remove all loose dirt and debris.

3. Dampen a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Wipe the keyboard, touch pad and buttons with the cloth.

4. Clean individual keys, crevices and hard-to-reach areas with cotton swabs dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Let the keyboard air dry for 5 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use compressed air to clean the keyboard as you risk blowing dust and debris further underneath the keys and into the computer itself.
