DIY PVC Archery Target Frame
Building your own archery target stand with PVC pipe is an economical way to hone your shooting skills. The price of two homemade stands is less than the cost of one commercial stand. A PVC stand is lightweight and portable. One person can carry it and it can be transported in any vehicle, even behind a truck seat when it’s taken apart.
Things You'll Need
- Three 10-foot sections of 1” schedule 40 PVC pipe
- Four 1” T-connectors
- Two 1” 90 degree elbows
- Drill
- Two eye bolts with nuts and washers
Instructions

1
Cut the pipe. To get the most out of your three pieces, cut two four-foot sections and a two-foot section from the first pipe. Make the second pipe into two three-foot sections and one four-foot section. Slice the third pipe into three two-foot sections and a four-foot piece.
-
2
Assemble the feet for the stand by connecting two of the two-foot sections with a T. You’ll make two of these.
-
-
3
Insert the last two short pieces of pipe in the open side of the T-connectors to form the lower legs.
-
4
Add a T to the top of each lower leg. When assembled, the middle of the T will point inward.
-
5
Use two of the four-foot pieces to form the upper part of the legs and top them with the elbows. Make sure the open end of the elbows face the same direction as the T-connectors.
-
6
Drill holes three inches from each end of one of the three-foot sections and insert the eye bolts.
-
7
Place both three-foot sections in the elbows and T-connectors to form the cross braces. The piece with the eye bolts goes on top.
-
8
Hang your target using twine, rope or anything else you have available.

Tips & Warnings
There will be a four-foot section left over after assembly. Save it in case any parts need to be replaced.
The pieces can be glued together, but it will be more difficult to replace broken pieces.
