How to Use Cloth Napkins for a Window Treament
Cloth napkins can be an easy and inexpensive way to dress a window. They are particularly appropriate for kitchen and bathroom windows. The number of napkins you will need depends on the style of window treatment you choose and the size and number of windows. Napkins are available in many styles, colors and fabrics. Fold three or more napkins in a row across the top of the curtain rod, diagonally. fold the napkin in half over the top of the rod and let the corner of each napkin hang down, making three triangle shapes across the top of the window as a valance. Or hang them over the drapes you already have up, and they will add contrast and texture.

Napkins don't have to be just for the table. Sew the napkins together in a square or diamond shape to make a curtain panel completely of napkins. Fold over the edge on one end about three inches to make a rod pocket.

Tie a knot in one end of each napkin. Put hooks across the middle or top of the window for either a cafe style or a valance. Hang the knotted end of each napkin on each hook.

Fold the corner of one napkin and tack it with a few stitches, making a loop on that end of the napkin. Slide this loop onto a cafe rod. Repeat until you have enough napkins on the rod for the fullness that you prefer.

Tips & Warnings
Match the style and texture of the napkins to any curtains you plan to hang with them and to the room's decor; casual for casual rooms and more formal napkins for a formal window treatment.
