How to Eject a Windows XP Disc From a MacBook Pro
Microsoft Windows XP is an operating system designed for PCs. However, Apple Macintosh computers with Intel-brand CPUs and Apple's Boot Camp application can run the Windows XP operating system on a separate hard drive partition. When using a Windows XP disc in your MacBook Pro, ejecting the CD is easy, requiring the use of only the laptop's "Eject" button.

An LED light on your laptop will indicate proper hardware function. Turn on your MacBook Pro and ensure that your CD drive is functioning properly. If there is anything blocking the CD slot, remove the debris and clean the CD drive properly to prevent errors or damage during the disc ejection. After thoroughly inspecting your MacBook Pro's CD drive, log in to your user account.

Your MacBook Pro's "Eject" button shows a black or white triangle, depending on your keyboard's color theme. Make sure that no Windows programs or installations are running that currently use the Windows XP install CD or any of its files, because ejecting the CD while it is in use by your computer could damage your disc or CD drive. After closing any programs or windows that are using the Windows XP disc, press the "Eject" button on your laptop's keyboard to eject the disc. The "Eject" button shows a triangle shape and is located in the top-right corner of your keyboard.

Remove the CD from the disc drive, located on the right-hand side of your computer. Grasp it firmly with one hand and slide it to the right slowly outward until the CD is completely out of the MacBook Pro's disc drive. Your Windows XP disc will then be ready for use in a computer again at any time simply by reinserting the disc into a CD drive.

Tips & Warnings
Do not attempt to pry open the CD drive on your MacBook Pro if your Windows XP CD becomes stuck. This will only damage your computer's internal components and could possibly harm your CD as well. Seek professional support in the event of a disc becoming jammed inside the CD drive.
