You must visit the location during business hours, provide identification and fill out a form to obtain the desired divorce records. These documents are not open to the public and only the parties to the divorce, those related to the individuals in the documents or those who have the authority to access the information will be able to obtain the divorce documents.

The address and phone number for local offices can be found in a Colorado phone book or on the official Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment website, which publishes a list of local offices.

Ensure you have the proper identification that is needed to obtain divorce records. When you visit a local district court clerk's office, you will be required to show identification that contains your photograph. Examples of accepted identification include a state-issued driver's license, an identification card and a passport. If this type of identification is not available to you, you also can provide proof of identification through birth certificates, certified court orders or a copy of a marriage certificate. You will need identification to prove you have the authority to access the divorce records.
