How to Adjust the Browning Compound Bow Draw Weight

Browning is known the world over as a manufacturer of fine firearms, but it also produces several other lines of weaponry--including the Browning Archery line of compound bows. Adjusting the draw weight on a Browning compound bow is a simple process, but very necessary to learn because shooting a bow with an incorrect draw weight for your arm will make it very difficult to fire the arrow accurately.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the limb bolts on the Browning compound bow. These are the large black bolts immediately above and below the center of the bow.

    • 2

Use your hex wrench to tighten the bolts all the way down. Turn each bolt clockwise four times, then turn the other bolt clockwise the same number of turns. Never try to turn either bolt more than four times without turning the other bolt, as this will damage your bow.

    • 3

Turn the bolts counterclockwise once you have tightened them down fully using the same "four-and-four" method prescribed in the preceding step. Test the bowstring after each turn by drawing it back then easing it back forward. Keep turning the bolts until you are able to comfortably draw the bowstring back without it being overly easy.
