Pool sweepers are a must when it comes to pool maintenance.

A pool sweeper is the vacuum that moves around the bottom of the pool and is hooked up the intake valve on the side of the pool about 1 1/2 feet under the surface. The pool pump must be turned on and the vacuum hoses must be connected to the intake and the vacuum. You just need to connect all the components and adjust the skimmer valve while the pool pump is running. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the pool pump on and allow the pump to run for one hour to get the water circulating. As the water is circulating, lay all of the vacuum hoses out in a straight line next to the sweeper.

    • 2

Brush the entire wall and floor of the pool using the pool brush to remove any stuck debris that may be on the pool's foundation. Connect all of the hoses so that they form a long hose.

    • 3

Connect one end of the hose to the valve on the top of the sweeper and place the sweeper into the water. Connect the opposite end of the hose to the intake valve inside the pool. Lead the sweeper to the shallow end of the pool and adjust the skimmer valve until the sweeper is moving around the bottom of the pool.

    • 4

Allow the pool pump to run for eight hours.

Once you are done using the sweeper and hoses, disconnect all of the hoses and lay them in a straight line in the sun next to the sweeper for a few hours to dry.
