How to Change a Glock Recoil Spring

Glock pistols are popular with military, law enforcement and civilian shooters worldwide and have a well- deserved reputation of quality and reliability. A virtue of Glock pistols is their simplicity. Glock pistols are designed to perform in the harshest of conditions and to allow the shooter to disassemble the pistol without the benefit of tools. Replacing the recoil spring on your Glock pistol is a quick process. Check that your pistol is unloaded before working on it.

Instructions

1. Separate the lower and upper receivers of your pistol.

2. Turn over the upper receiver and remove the guide rod/recoil spring assembly by moving the guide rod slightly forward (disengaging it from the step on the barrel) and lifting it off.

3. Remove the old recoil spring from the guide rod and replace with the new one.

4. Put the guide rod/recoil spring assembly back into position and reassemble your pistol.
