How to Make Invisible Thread for Free
Invisible thread isn't actually invisible, or even transparent. It is just very, very thin, making it impossible to see unless you are very close to it. When it is connected between a lightweight object and a magician's hand, invisible thread can make the object appear to hover in the air. It can also be used to move small objects around. Invisible thread can snap if pulled too hard, but it is surprisingly strong for its thickness.
Instructions

1
Find a spool of black nylon thread. If you don't have it around your house, you can buy it at a fabric store or drug store.
-
2
Cut the thread to the desired length, leaving an inch or two of extra thread for attaching it to objects.
-
-
3
Find a single strand of the thread at one end. Nylon thread is made of several thin strands, but invisible thread requires a single strand. Hold the strand and the rest of the thread back a couple inches. It should bunch up along the string.
-
4
Place a small piece of transparent tape on the end of the single strand to mark where it ends. You may also use a small bead of beeswax.
-
5
Carefully, pull the single filament out of the thread by holding on to the rest of the thread and sliding it down. It will continue to bunch up as you pull out the invisible thread.
-
6
Place a piece of tape on the second end of the invisible thread once you pull it out. Attach one piece of tape to an object you wish to levitate, such as a dollar bill, and your other to your finger. You can now make an object "magically" float in the air.

Tips & Warnings
Wear dark clothes when you use the invisible thread. This will help to camouflage it.
