Opening a Sentry Safe 1100
The Sentry Safe 1100 model is a small in-home safe that uses a standard key instead of an electronic keypad or combination lock. This makes opening the safe a relatively simple procedure as long as you have your key. However, if you have lost the key, you'll need to obtain a new one from Sentry Group to open your safe, unless you want to destroy the safe to get inside. Does this Spark an idea?

If You Have the Key

Insert your Sentry Safe key fully into the keyhole. Turn the key counterclockwise as far as it will go.

Push down on the top part of the safe. While applying pressure, lift the handle if you have an "HD" or "FD" model. If you have an "H" or "F" model, pull the handle outward.

Push firmly down on the safe's lid when you are ready to close it. You'll hear the lid latch. Turn the key clockwise and remove it.
If You've Lost the Key

Inspect the outer rim of the lock cylinder to find the reference number. The number may vary in digits. Be sure to write it down exactly as it appears.

Locate your product serial number, which is found on the bottom of your Sentry 1100 safe.

Visit the Sentry Safe online key ordering page. Complete the order form and provide the necessary information to order your replacement key.

Order a key by mail if you'd prefer not to do so online. Write down the reference and serial number, and write a check or money order for $12 payable to Sentry Group. If you require express shipping, the fee is $25. Mail it to:

Insert your key and turn it clockwise. Apply pressure to the top, and either pull or raise the latch handle to open your Sentry Safe 1100.
