To become a dental hygienist in Ohio, you must obtain a degree in the field from an accredited two-year program. There are many schools throughout the state that offer applied science degrees in dental care. After completing your degree, you must take the national and state board exams. The board exam has three parts: a six- to seven-hour written exam, a clinical board and a computer exam.
