The TiVo R10 is a recording device made to serve as a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) for DirecTV. However, before you can record programming with the TiVo R10 you must first built a connection between the device, your DirecTV receiver and your television. This connection process takes only a few minutes; once complete, you will be able to record any programming you receive through the DirecTV service.

  • TiVo R10 DVR
  • RCA audio/video cables
  • DirecTV receiver
  • Television

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect the coaxial cable running from the DirecTV satellite receiver to the "In" port on the back of the DirecTV receiver.

      Plug the first set of RCA audio/video cables into the "Video Out" ports on the DirecTV receiver. Connect the opposite end of the cables into the "Video In" ports on the TiVo R10.

      Insert the RCA audio/video cables into the "Video Out" ports on the TiVo R10. Plug the opposite ends of the cables into the "Video In" ports on the television.

      Power on the DirecTV receiver, the TiVo R10 and the television. Press the "Video" button on the television and the DirecTV programming will appear on the screen, running through the TiVo R10.
