Office Mobile includes pocket versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. This comes in handy when you want to view or edit documents while you're on the go. The main ways you can convert Excel (XLS) files to Windows mobile are by either opening an email attachment on your phone or transferring XLS files from your computer to your device. As soon as you upload a file onto Windows Mobile, the file will be automatically converted to mobile format.

Instructions

  1. Convert XLS Files from Email

      Open your email account from your Windows Mobile device. Open an email that contains an attached Excel file.

      Click the attachment. The next screen will allow to either open the file or save the file. Click "Menu," then "Save as" to save the file on your device.

      Press "Start" on your device. Press "Office Mobile," then "Excel Mobile."

      Select the file you just saved to open it. Now you can view and edit the Excel file as needed.

    Transfer XLS Files from PC

      Connect your device to your computer via a USB cable.

      Right-click the "Start" button on your computer. Select "Open Windows Explorer."

      Navigate to a folder containing XLS files you want to transfer to your phone. Right-click a file you want to copy. Select "Copy."

      Navigate to "Mobile Device" and click it. Right-click a folder to which you want to move the file and click "Paste." A file conversion dialog box may appear. Click "OK."

      Disconnect your mobile device. Press "Start" on the phone, then "Office Mobile," then "Excel Mobile." Select the transferred file from the program list to open it.

Tips & Warnings

  • After you make changes to a file in Excel Mobile, you can save it by clicking the "Menu" tab. Select "File," then "Save as."
