How to Be Removed From a Credit Card Pre-Screened List

The website OptOutPrescreen is maintained by the three major credit bureaus--TransUnion, Equifax and Experian--to comply with Federal Trade Commission regulations that state consumers shall have the option to opt out of pre-screened credit offers. Consumers may opt out of pre-screened offers for five years or permanently. OptOutPrescreen will accept permanent opt-out requests by mail or by phone, and five-year opt-out requests may be submitted online or by phone. There is no fee to opt out of pre-screened offers using this service.
