How to Clean an Alen Air Purifier Filter
When you choose to clean the filter on an Alen air purifier, you are actually cleaning the pre-filter. The pre-filter is a layer of filtration that encloses or surrounds the high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter, and removes large and medium-sized particles such as hair, dust, pet dander, mold and pollen spores. You should clean the pre-filter every 200 to 300 hours of use. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Unplug the air purifier from its power supply.
-
2
Remove the inlet grill. For the A350 and A375UV units, lay the unit on the floor so the inlet grill is facing up, and pull on the lower end of the inlet grill. For the T300 and T100 units, release the inlet grill. Press around the locking switch and pull forward.

3
Lift the pull string on the A-units to remove the HEPA filter. On the T-models, remove the filters by grasping the sides of the filters.
-
4
Run the vacuum hose over the pre-filter to clean it. You can also wash it with soap and warm water, rinse with cool water, and let the filter drip dry or dry it with a clean towel.
-
5
Vacuum the inlet grill and wipe it with a wet rag to remove as much dust as possible. This, too, should be done every 200 to 300 hours.
