How to Personally Design Your Own Leather Wrist Bands for Men
Leather working is a craft that has been around for hundreds of years and involves many elaborate designs. This craft is generally associated with old western design, such as belts, wallets, hats, and wristbands. Leather working as a hobby is still performed today by many craftsmen, and though the tools have changed a little, the craft is largely performed in a traditional style. Creating a wristband out of a piece of leather for men is a simple leather working project, but it should be performed with proper leather working tools.

1
Obtain a piece of leather stripping at your local crafts store. You can buy pieces of leather in all shapes and sizes. For this project, choose a piece of leather about 8 inches long and 1 inch wide, with a rich brown texture.
-
2
Cut the leather to fit your wrist or the wrist of the man for whom you're making the wristband. You may need all 8 inches or you may need to cut off 2 inches, depending on the wrist. To make a nice fitting wristband, wrap the piece of leather around the wrist and place your index finger in between the wrist and the leather. This will be a comfortable fit. Leave about a half inch for error, and cut off the rest with scissors.

3
Use a hole punch to cut holes about every half inch on the leather piece. You will use the holes to place rivets as a decoration. The rivets will give the leather a rugged, decorative look.
-
4
Place the leather into a riveting machine. Set the hole under the rivet die, then place a rivet onto the rivet hammer. Press down on the handle hard to seat the rivet into the hole. Repeat for the rest of your rivet holes.

5
Cut a small hole on both ends of the leather. You can use a small hole punch or just bore a hole with a sharp knife. You'll use this hole to seat a snap button to close the wristband.
-
6
Place one end of the leather piece into the riveting machine just as before, and place one button snap onto the riveting hammer and press down hard. Place the opposite button snap piece onto the other end and repeat the process. Ensure that your button snaps line up so they can be buttoned together. You should now have a rugged, riveted leather wristband, perfect for any cowboy.
