How to Acquire New Federal Reserve Notes
Federal Reserve Notes are the official name for United States currency, or cash. The money is printed by the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, is backed by the credit of the United States government and is given to banks by the Federal Reserve Bank. Many people like to give new Federal Reserve Notes as a cash present in a birthday or holiday card; however, new Federal Reserve Notes may be difficult to acquire.
Instructions

1
Determine the amount and denominations of Federal Reserve Notes that you require.
-
2
Contact local banks in your area. Individual bank branches receive new Federal Reserve Notes occasionally, and you should contact different banks in your area to see whether any of them have received a shipment of newly printed currency. Some banks may require you to be a customer to exchange money at their branches.

Exchange money at the bank. If you are going to a bank where you have an account, you can write a check and have it cashed in new Federal Reserve Notes. If you are going to a bank where you do not have an account, you will have to take cash with you, because the bank will not cash your check. If that is the case, stop by your bank first or withdraw money at an ATM.

Tips & Warnings
When you contact a bank and it has new currency, ask the teller to hold the money for you and request the amount and denominations that you need.
Always count new currency at the teller window to double-check the amount. New currency often sticks together, and you want to make sure you have the correct amount.
