How to Clean Yellow Grease Off Kitchen Cupboards
One of the first things people see when they walk into your kitchen is the cupboards. Kitchen cupboards are often plagued with sticky, unsightly, yellow grease spots from cooking that can make your entire kitchen look unclean. Clean yellow grease spots from your cupboards sooner rather than later so the grease does not build up. It will require a lot less time and effort to clean off the grease if it has not accumulated over a long period. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Sponge
- Microwave
- Rubber gloves
- Citrus-based cleaner
- Paper towels
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 tbsps. baking soda
- Bowl
- Rags

Dampen a soft sponge with water and place it in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Remove with a pair of rubber gloves.

Spray down the greasy cupboards with a citrus-based cleaner such as Orange-Sol or Super Brite All-Purpose Citrus Cleaner. Wipe the cupboards with the heated sponge to get rid of the grease. Go over the cupboards with dry paper towels to remove any residue.

Mix 1 cup of warm water and 3 tbsps. of baking soda into a bowl if the yellow grease spots remain. Rinse out the sponge thoroughly, dampen it again and heat for 40 seconds.

Dip the sponge into the baking soda paste and rub onto the cupboards to remove the grease. Rinse the cupboards with a rag and cool water, then dry with a soft rag.

Tips & Warnings
Use white vinegar as an alternative for cleaning greasy cupboards.
Solvents such as turpentine or mineral spirits can be used for especially stubborn grease spots. Clean the cupboards with an old rag and the solvent, then wash the cupboards with soapy water to remove any residue from the solvent. Rinse and dry the cupboards thoroughly.
