Instructions

    • 1

Locate a deep slot in the river that is at least 4 feet deep. Hang out on the river bank for a half-hour or so watching for salmon rolling to the surface. If there are no salmon rolling, move upriver until you find a deep slot where the salmon are holding and rolling to the surface.

Tie your snap swivel onto your main line.

    • 3

Grab your lure and unlock the snap on your snap swivel. Thread the snap through the hole at the top of your spoon lure and re-lock the snap into the snap swivel.

    • 4

Cast upriver at the 9 o'clock position to the outer edge of the hole furthest away from you. Let your spoon drift until you feel a slight bump when it hits the river bottom. Reel the spoon in slowly, you will feel the tip of your pole vibrate steadily from the spoon's vibrating action.

Keep the tip of your pole vertical after a salmon strikes your spoon to help prevent the salmon from shaking your hook. Land your salmon on the river bank.
