Speech recognition lets you command the computer with a microphone.

No two voices are exactly the same. Because of this, computer voice recognition programs have to be "trained" before they are usable. In the training process, Windows Vista and Windows 7 ask you to speak several sentences aloud. Based on what the computer hears, it makes certain generalizations about your dialect, allowing the voice recognition software to respond to your commands with greater accuracy. If you are changing computers, back up your voice recognition training profile with the Windows Speech Recognition Profile Tool so you can move your profile to the new computer.
