How to Clean Duck Head Shoes

Duck Head footwear makes men's, women's and children's shoes using four different types of leather.

Duck Head is a clothing line that was established in 1865 and trademarked in 1892. Duck Head footwear was established in the mid-1990s. Duck Head shoes are made from leather material. The types of leather used are crazy horse leather, pit stop leather, nubuck and finished leathers. Duck Head recommends the shoes be cleaned as needed using a high-quality leather cleaner and leather conditioner.

Things You'll Need

• Leather cleaner
• Rag
• Leather conditioner
• Silicone liquid

Instructions

1. Applying a liberal amount of leather cleaner to a cloth or rag.

2. Rub the leather cleaner-dampened rag into the shoes. Clean the entire surface of the shoes.

3. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any excess leather cleaner.

4. Add a leather conditioner to a new, clean rag. Rub this rag into the leather shoes. Cover the entire leather surface.

5. Spray liquid silicon on nubuck shoes or boots only. Spray enough to provide a thin coat of protection on the leather.

6. Allow the shoes to dry overnight before wearing.
