Stationery can be an expensive part of organizing a wedding or other formal event, so save money by making your own RSVP cards. Materials can be bought cheaply and you do not need to be particularly creative or artistic to produce cards which are attractive and sophisticated. The simpler you keep your card, the more classic it will look. Choose card stock in a color that matches the rest of the theme of your wedding or event. If you need to create many RSVP cards, you can print them out from your computer using a basic template such as those provided by Microsoft Office.
Hand-Made Cards
Step 1
Select your card stock in a suitable color. Take it to a photocopy or stationery shop and ask them to cut sheets into four sections to create 6-inch by 6-inch cards using a paper guillotine. This will be much neater than trying to do it yourself at home.

Step 2
Place a blank sheet of paper on a flat surface, and draw around one card with a pencil. Use a ruler to mark two points exactly 3 inches from the top of the card, one on the right hand and one on the left hand border. This will give you a guide for creating a straight line for each card you write and save you measuring each time.
Step 3
Place the first card on top of the template you have drawn. Lie the ruler across the card so it sits in a straight line, according to the points you made on the template. Write the names of the invitees and will/will not be able to attend in your best handwriting along the edge of the ruler.
Step 4
Press the rubber stamp into the ink pad and press onto your RSVP card under your writing. Repeat until you have made a card for everyone you have invited.
Printed Cards
Step 1
Open Microsoft Office on your computer. Click new, then select templates.
Step 2
Select a template from those that appear on screen and click download.
Step 3
Highlight any areas of text where you wish to add your own words and type in your text.
Step 4
Click "save" at the top of the screen and give your RSVP card a name.
Step 5
Insert paper or thin card in your printer and print out the design template you have edited.
