Instructions

    • 1

Wash and condition hair with volume-boosting products. Apply volume-boosting mousse generously throughout hair. Blow-dry hair, using a large round brush to straighten hair and increase volume at the crown.

    • 2

Separate the top of the hair into three equal sections, so there are two sections on each side of the head and one section in the middle. Leave the back of the hair down to make the fourth section.

    • 3

Curl the center section of hair back with a large barrel curling iron and spray with hairspray. Tease the hair at the roots with a comb and pin back loosely to form a prominent bump in the center of the hair. Allow the rest of this section to fall in with the section at the back of the head. Secure with bobby pins and hairspray.

    • 4

Curl each side section back; secure the curl with bobby pins. Loosen the hair around the pin, so a large fan forms to meet the center bump. Spray with hairspray to hold he shape.

    • 5

Pull the back section of the hair high up onto the head with the remaining length of the front center section of hair. Twist hair loosely from the end; then wrap around the base to form a loose bun. Secure in place with bobby pins; then pull gently to loosen the bun. Hold the entire hairstyle in place with a generous amount of hairspray.

    • 6

Adorn the hairstyle with accessories such as chopsticks, fake flowers, ribbons or bows.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make this hairstyle work with shorter hair, follow the same steps for the front section and simply curl the back of the hair and pin under to form another bump at the base of the head.
