How to Install Altec Lansing Vs220 Speakers

Altec Lansing computer speakers are available in a variety of system configurations, from multi-channel surround-sound packages to desktop stereo speakers like the Vs220. The Vs220 system includes a pair of stereo speakers that hook up to any computer with a 3.5mm audio jack using a single connection. The audio cables connect in seconds for full stereo sound, while the compact size of the Vs220 system makes it possible to pack them and travel easily with a laptop.

Things You'll Need

• Computer or laptop with Line Out jack

Instructions

1. Place the speaker marked "L" on the left side of the computer monitor or laptop screen and set the "R" speaker on the right.

2. Connect the attached wire at the rear of the left speaker to the audio jack on the back of the right speaker by inserting the 3.5mm plug on the end of the cable.

3. Insert the plug on the end of the right speaker cable into the "Line Out" jack on the back of a computer tower or use the headphone jack on the edge of a laptop.

4. Insert the power plug into the jack on the back of the rear speaker and connect the plug on the other end to a wall outlet.

5. Dial the on/off/volume knob counter-clockwise on the right channel speaker to switch on the speakers and adjust sound. Use the headphone jack on the right edge of the right speaker for private listening.
