How to Write a Cookbook Online
If you love to cook as a hobby, or perhaps have an area that you specialize in, such as baking the perfect loaf of bread or creating delicious vegan meals, you may want to consider compiling your recipes as a cookbook. A few websites offer services that enable you to upload all of your recipes and photos online, then choose a template and format your book into an e-book or print book that you can order.

1
Decide on a theme and title for your cookbook. If you are planning on selling your book, it is important to be specific so your readers know what to expect; baking, party foods or maybe food from one particular culture.
-
2
Compile all of your photos into one folder on your computer. Generally, the more photos a cookbook has, the more popular it is. At least one photo per recipe is ideal, although if you are printing this may raise the price considerably.

3
Find a website that offers cookbook formatting services, such as Desktop Cookbook, Family Cookbook Project or Tastebook. Most websites will require you to register, which involves entering your name and email address and is usually free. Before signing up, check to see if there is a minimum number of cookbooks you are allowed to order, as some websites require you order 100 copies or more.
-
4
Choose one of the templates offered by the website. Use the website's guidelines and forms to begin entering your recipes and uploading photos. Depending on the size of your project, this may take several days or weeks of work. Proofread each recipe carefully for mistakes and clarity, as you may not be working with an editor.
-
5
Choose a cover design if you are printing your cookbook, then follow the publication instructions on the website, which will involve saving all of your information. Decide how many copies of your cookbook you want to start with, then enter your shipping address. If you are not printing your cookbook, download the electronic version to share with family and friends.

Tips & Warnings
Compile all of your recipes into one document in your word processor to streamline inputting the recipes online. Organize your recipes as you would a book, including a table of contents that divides your recipes into sections. Be sure each recipe has a name, a list of ingredients and clear instructions.
