How to Make a Stationary Set Out of Plain Paper

Make your own stationery for a more personal touch.

Personalized stationery is wonderful, but it can be costly, and you may not find some that represents who you are. You can remedy this dilemma by making your own stationery paper at home for pennies. You can make it by hand using supplies from the craft store if you have the time, but if you need a lot of stationery, it may be easier for you to do it on your home computer and print the paper out yourself.

Things You'll Need

• Plain white paper
• Computer
• Printer
• Stamps
• Decorative hole punches
• Scrapbook cutouts and stickers

Instructions

Computer Stationery

1. Open your word processing program and click on "New Document" to open a blank workspace.

2. Click "Insert" and a tab will come up to give you an option of either downloading clip art from your software, a personal photo or one you've downloaded off of the Internet. There are many free clip art and image sites you can use for this purpose.

3. Arrange and resize your image as you like.

4. Type in any text you'd like to go on your stationery, such as a favorite quote, your name or simply your initials.

5. Print the document onto your plain paper, and enjoy your personalized stationery.

Hand Decorating Stationery

1. Punch designs into your paper using shaped hole punches.

2. Embellish your paper with scrapbook stickers and cutouts.

3. Stamp designs, borders or your initials using craft stamps and ink.
