How to Make an Envelope Coupon Wallet Organizer
Coupon clippers rely on careful organization to save money. By filing coupons according to the various categories, you will easily find them either before you shop or while you shop to use them as you check out of the store. Many different coupon organizers abound, but a basic method of organizing and storing coupons should suffice. Make an envelope coupon wallet organizer to organize your coupons into categories and carry them with you while you shop.
Things You'll Need
- Small scrap of pre-quilted fabric
- Tape measure
- Fabric pen
- Scissors
- Serger sewing machine
- Iron
- Self-adhesive hook-and-loop dots
- Letter-size envelopes

Measure a 7 1/2- by 11-inch rectangle on the fabric with the tape measure and draw the lines of the shape with the fabric pen. Cut along the lines with the scissors.

Place the fabric piece into the serger and serge one short edge of the fabric to finish this fabric edge.

Place the fabric piece wrong-side up onto a flat work surface with the short unfinished edge at the top and the serged edge at the bottom.

Fold the bottom edge of the fabric rectangle up 3 inches and press this fold with the iron to make a pocket.

Place the folded fabric into the serger to sew the side edges of the pocket. Serge along the left edge of the pocket from the bottom fold up to the point of the serged short edge. Stop stitching and remove the fabric from the serger.

Place the folded fabric back into the serger and serge along the right edge of the pocket from the bottom fold. Continue stitching past the point of the serged short edge and continue finishing the raw edges remaining along the fabric edge (the pocket flap). Stitch to the corner, turn the corner and stitch to the next corner and then stitch to the point you stopped stitching previously.

Remove the fabric from the serger and look at the quilted wallet. You should see a bottom pocket portion with a finished flap on top.

Open out the flap and place one-half of the hook-and-loop adhesive dot on the inside center of this flap. Close the flap down over the pocket portion of the wallet to see where the other half of the hook-and-loop adhesive dot must go to line up with the hook-and-loop half on the flap. Place the second half of the hook-and-loop dot onto the pocket portion of the wallet.

Open the wallet up by pulling the flap up. You can now insert letter-size envelopes into the wallet--one envelope for each coupon category you want to organize and store in your wallet. Label each envelope with a specific category and place it into the wallet. Place your coupons into the envelopes and close the flap of the wallet.
