Tweak a Zhone DSL Modem to increase connection speed.

Zhone provides DSL modems for both residential and business use. Unlike dial-up modems, DSL does not occupy your phone line when you are connected to the Internet. DSL also gives you a faster connection than most dial-up modems. Tweaking a DSL modem essentially increases its connection speed.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click on Start and select "Run..." Type "regedit" (without quotes). Press "Enter." This will launch your Windows Registry Editor.

      Navigate to the following registry: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > "SYSTEM" > "CurrentControlSet" > "Services" > "Tcpip" > "Parameters."

      Click on the "Edit" tab on the top bar. Point your mouse to "New" and then select "DWORD value."

      Type any name for "TcpWindowSize" and hit "Enter" key.

      Double-click on the new default value. Change the "Base value" to "decimal." Replace the default value with "32767." Hit "OK." Close down "Windows Registry Editor." Restart your computer.
