How to Make No-Knot Cornrows
No-knot cornrows, also known as undetectable cornrows, are created through an advanced cornrowing technique that hides the addition of hair extensions. As the name suggests, there is no bulky knot at the beginning of the cornrow. Rather than adding all the extensions needed at the beginning , the hair extensions are added gradually throughout the length of the cornrow as you proceed with the cornrowing. This gives the hair extensions a seamless look. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Start with combed hair.
-
2
Part the first section of hair.
-
-
3
Cornrow the first section for the first 2 inches without adding any hair extensions.
-
4
Fold a small amount of hair extensions in half to form an n-shape. Place the fold in the point between two of the sections of the cornrow—the middle section and a side section. Then do the pickup for that revolution.
-
5
Continue cornrowing for about 2 inches. Add in a small amount of hair extensions as before.
-
6
Repeat until you come to the end of the scalp. Finish the cornrow as you normally would.
-
7
Repeat on each section of hair to make each cornrow.

Tips & Warnings
It will take practice to know how many hair extensions to add each time. Remember, you are going for a seamless look. If you add too much at one time, there will be a lump. It also takes practice to know when to add the extensions.
Always put the hair extensions in the same two sections—the middle one and one of the sides. For example, if you started putting them in the right section, always put them in the right section.
Use good-quality hair extensions. They should have some stretch to them, and make a snapping sound when it breaks.
Watch the tension. If it hurts the scalp when the cornrow is finished, you are pulling the hair too tight and should redo the cornrow.
