How to Search for Homes by Street

Real estate search engines can help you search for homes by street.

Using an online real estate database is an efficient way to search for homes located on a single street. Zillow and Trulia are the two biggest real estate search engines on the Internet. Both search engines allow you to specify your search by sifting through listings. They also provide estimated home values which are determined by the site and based on how much other properties in the area are selling for.

Instructions

Zillow

1. Access www.zillow.com.

2. Enter the street name, city name, state, and zip code in the "Find home values and listings" search box. Click the "Go" button.

3. View the search results page. A satellite image of the street will be displayed. You can click any house on the street to bring up a detailed overview of that property.

Trulia

1. Access www.trulia.com.

2. Enter the street name, city name, state, and zip code in the "Location" search box. Click the "Search" button.

3. View the search results page. Any listings on that street along with a map of their location will be displayed. Clicking a specific property will allow you to view more details about that house.

Tips & Warnings

• Both Zillow and Trulia allow you to see if a house is up for sale, available to rent, or any history that the property may have.

• Zillow and Trulia's search engines operate a little differently from one another, so it might be worth it to run your search on both sites.
