How to Replant Morning Glory Seeds
The morning glory plant is a fast growing vine that produces large trumpet-shaped flowers that are blue to purple in color. Each flower bloom lasts only one day before dying, but the vine produces many blooms continuously. Morning glory plants are easily grown from seeds, which are available at most nurseries and garden centers. You can also collect the seeds from your morning glory plants and save them for next year's planting season. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Stop pruning off old wilted morning glory blooms and wait for them to develop into seed pods. It takes two to three weeks before the pods appear.
-
2
Wait until the seed pods turn from green to a light tan color, and then cut them off of the vine using pruning shears. Remove the pod by cutting the stalk 1/4 inch below the pod. Or you may simply cut off the entire stalk near the main stem, since it will no longer produce blooms.

3
Lay a sheet of white paper on a flat surface and place a morning glory seed pod on top of the paper. Insert the tip of a knife into the top of the seed pod to cut it open. Do not cut deeply to avoid damaging the seeds.
-
4
Tilt the seed pod upside down to shake out the seeds. Each pod will contain between one and four small brown- to black-colored seeds.
-
5
Place the seeds in an envelope, and write on it the name of the plant and the date of seed collection. Store in a cool, dry location.
-
6
Sow the seeds the following spring, using one pot for every one or two seeds, planted 2 inches deep in potting mix.
