How to Make an All-Occasion Candy Bouquet
Celebrate any occasion with a homemade candy bouquet using real pieces of candy and items found in the floral section of most craft stores. If the edible bouquet is intended to be a gift for one person, use his favorite types of candy but avoid removing any candy from the wrappers to make your arrangement. Unwrapped candies may become stale before you present the bouquet, which could affect both the appearance and flavor of the candy.

- Green floral wire
- Scissors
- Cellophane-wrapped hard candy
- Green floral tape
- Meringue powder or dried egg whites
- Warm water
- Confectioner's sugar
- Teardrop-shaped chocolates
- Wax paper

Cut several pieces of green floral wire with scissors to create stems for your candy bouquet. If you are using a vase, make sure that the wire is long enough to rest on the bottom of the vase and extend at least 3 to 4 inches above the top of the vase.

Choose a brightly colored hard candy wrapped in cellophane to represent one of the flowers in your candy bouquet.

Wrap one twisted end of the cellophane wrapper against the floral wire and firmly wrap green floral tape around the wrapper and wire to hold them together. You can attach several candies along the top 3 to 4 inches of one stem if desired.

Mix 1 tsp. meringue powder or dried egg whites into 1 tbsp. warm water until the powder has been dissolved. Slowly stir up to 3/4 cup of confectioner's sugar into the mixture to form a thick paste. This paste is a safe-to-eat glue that is similar to icing.

Glue the bottoms of two foil-wrapped, flat-bottomed teardrop-shaped chocolates such as Hershey's Kisses together using the edible paste. Lay these chocolate rosebuds on a piece of wax paper until the paste is dry.

Slip a small cellophane bag over the chocolate rosebud. These bags are sometimes referred to as treat bags and are available at craft stores.

Place the end of an undecorated wire stem inside the cellophane bag and along the side of one of your rosebuds with the top of the wire ending at the center of the bud where the two chocolates meet.

Twist the bottom of the cellophane bag to tightly encase the foil-wrapped chocolates and secure the wire. Wrap green floral tape around the wire to completely cover the ends of the cellophane bag and hold the rosebud in place.

Arrange several hard candy flowers and chocolate rosebuds together to form a candy bouquet. Tie a length of ribbon around the stems to hold the bouquet together. You can add a few real or silk flowers to fill out the bouquet if desired.

Tips & Warnings
Wrap colorful tissue paper around the bouquet and present your all-occasion candy bouquet to the recipient. Another option is to insert a piece of floral foam into the bottom of a vase and push the ends of the stems into the foam.
Experiment with different shapes and colors of wrapped candies to create new blooms for your candy bouquet.
Avoid piercing the candy with the floral wire. If the wrapper is damaged or penetrated, the candy could become unsafe to eat.
