How to Tie a Lariat Necklace

Lariat necklaces are a versatile jewelry accessory that may be worn several ways depending upon the wearer's personal taste and outfit choice. They created form a long strand of beads that usually have beaded loops, stones or other decorations at either end. These necklaces are popular fashion accessories that can be worn by women of all ages.

Instructions

1. Decide whether you would like to wear your lariat necklace long or short. Your decision may be based upon your outfit or your personal preference. Typically, lariat necklaces are worn long when the wearer is wearing formal or evening attire and shorter with casual or business outfits.

2. Fold the lariat in half for a longer style and feed the ends of the necklace through the loop that was created by the fold. Slip the large loop around your head and adjust the size of the large loop until you are satisfied with the look and fit. One downside to this tying method is that it is fairly insecure, and you may need to readjust the fit and placement of your loop periodically. For an alternative long style, wrap the ends around your neck without folding. Hold the two ends in one hand and wrap them around each other to create a basic knot.

3. Wrap the lariat around your neck several times for a shorter style before tying the ends into a knot. This will create a layered look similar to wearing multiple strands of beads. An alternative option is to fold the lariat in half two times before wrapping around your neck and feeding one end through the loops created by the fold.
