Choose a pair of form fitting pants that match the color and design of the leg warmers. Loose baggy pants and those that are too long will get bunched up and fit strangely when worn with leg warmers. Blue jeans match almost any pair of leg warmers.

Put on the chosen pants and unfurl any cuffs so the hems rests flat on your ankles.

Bunch up one leg warmer into the shape of a doughnut and slide it up above your ankle until it is approximately 6 inches above the hem of the pants. Repeat this process to position the second leg warmer on your other leg.

Put on socks and shoes or your footwear of choice before extending the length of both leg warmers. The bottom of the leg warmers should cover about half of the heel cap and laces of most shoes. Extend leg warmers to your ankles before putting on boots.

Adjust the extended leg warmers so they are not twisted and have a small amount of slack. You are now ready to wear your leg warmer and pants ensemble out in public.

Complete the retro look with other 1980's inspired fashion like bangle bracelets, teased hair and large earrings.
Raise your leg warmers up off the ground if you step on them or they begin to drag. Sagging leg warmers may cause you to trip or fall if they get under the heel of shoes.
