The Polka Sa Nayon is a folkdance that comes from the Philippine Islands and has a strong Spanish influence. Polka Sa Nayon, which translates to "Polka in the Village," was once very popular at social affairs such as weddings, birthdays and other festive parties. Learning this dance can earn you major praise at any Filipino wedding or birthday Debut, a Filipino coming of age tradition.

Instructions

    • 1

      Bring your left foot forward then bring your right foot to your left heel. Step forward with your left foot, hold it and bend your body to the left side.

    • 2

      Touch your left heel with your right hand. Bring your left foot up, touch it with your right hand then bring your left foot back.

    • 3

      Bend both legs slightly and hold this position. Look over either shoulder and point at your toe. Repeat to continue the dance.
