Squeeze a quarter size amount of your heat protector onto your palm and rub your hands together. Apply the mixture onto your hair evenly with your hands. it is important that you use heat protector to prevent your hair damage before you use the flat iron.

    • 3

Turn your flat iron on and let it heat up for several minutes. Once your flat iron is ready begin straightening your hair. It is important that to fully straighten each section of your hair. After you have finished, comb your hair to remove any tangles. Pull the back part of your hair up with a clip. Leave the front part of your hair (any hair before your ears) left down.

Hold a small part of your hair out and with your fingers to decide where you would like to begin cutting. It is best if you hold your fingers at an angle, as scene hair is all about having defined layered hair. With your other hand begin cutting in the angled direction that you are holding. Continue doing this on the opposite side of your head; each side of your hair can be asymmetrical which will add more dimension to your scene hair cut.

Use the razor comb on the rest of your hair from the ears back. Razor combs will give you faster and messier results, plus they are ideal for longer sections of hair. Hold the back of your hair up to where you can see it and gently begin brushing the lower part of your hair slowly as if you would with a normal comb. Only stroke each section of hair several times, as you will not want to thin your hair too much. Continue doing this technique to various sections in the back of your hair. Once you are fully satisfied with your look stand back and admire your finished work.
