How to Set Rhinestones
You can cover your cell phone in rhinestones or just replace a missing stone in your favorite bracelet. Covering an everyday object with rhinestones transforms it into an eye-catching gift. You could cover a plain wooden box to make a treasure box for a young girl or an evening bag for a teen. Glue faux jewels to the clip of a clipboard to add sparkle to someone's work day.
Things You'll Need
- Rhinestone glue
- Bent-tip syringe
- Beeswax
- Pointed dowel
- Flat-back rhinestones

Fill the syringe with glue and use it to place a dot of glue on the desired location of the first rhinestone. The dot should be about half the size of the rhinestone.

Break off a piece of beeswax the same size as your rhinestones. Roll it into a ball and stick it on the pointed end of the dowel. You will use this to pick up rhinestones.

Press the ball of wax onto the faceted side of the first rhinestone. Pick up the rhinestone and press it onto the dot of glue. be sure the flat side of the stone is down.

Continue to add dots of glue and rhinestones. When you are pleased with the spacing, you may add several dots of glue at one time. Then add several rhinestones at one time. This will make the process go more quickly.

Allow the glue to dry completely before handling.

Tips & Warnings
Allow the glue to dry before you move the object to add rhinestones to the back or sides.
Place the rhinestones with their edges touching or scatter them evenly over the object.
Follow the drying times on the glue's label.
