Lay out the vehicle-specific carpet kit in the sun, preferably on concrete or asphalt. Allow it to sit in the sun for at least an hour to warm up the rubber mat underneath the carpet fibers and make it easier to install.

Open up all of the doors on the vehicle. Unbolt the seats from the floor using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Pull the seats out of the car and set them to the side. Unbolt any console from the car using the phillips-head screwdriver. Take out any other interior panels around the carpet by hand to release the clips holding them in place. Pull out the old carpet.
