How to Stop QuickTime

Stop QuickTime with the pause button.

QuickTime is a multimedia player made by Apple. The application can play music and video files that you have on your computer or that you download from the web. The stop function on the application is combined with the pause function, making it a bit confusing.

Instructions

1. Launch your QuickTime player.

2. Click "File" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Open File" or "Open URL." Either type the URL in the field or browse for the file and click the "Open" button.

3. Press the large arrow to begin playing the video or audio file. Put your cursor on the player, click and select "Stop." You can also stop QuickTime by pressing the large "Pause" button. Another way to stop the player is to close the window.
