How to Repair the Faucet Piece That an Aerator Screws Into

The aerator on a faucet is the round screen part that screws into the end of the spigot and causes the water to come out in an even stream. Sometimes when the aerator is removed to be cleaned or replaced, the threads on the end of the spigot become damaged. This is a common problem and can be fixed by re-tapping the threads on the spigot. Does this Spark an idea?
