How to Recover a Windows XP CD Key

Windows XP requires a CD key during its installation which verifies that the Windows XP system is legitimately licensed. The CD key comes with the Windows XP install CD. However, if you've lost your Windows XP CD and CD key, you can recover a Windows XP CD key that a Windows XP system was installed with. While Microsoft has no official tool for this purpose, there are a variety of third-party utilities for recovering Windows XP CD keys from Windows XP systems. Recover a Windows XP CD key by downloading and running a third-party utility.
