Instructions

      Make 21 chain stitches. Start with a slip knot on the hook. Draw yarn over the hook from back to front, catch the yarn with the hook and pull it through the slip knot. This is one chain. Repeat this until the chain reaches the necessary length.

      Make a single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain to the end of the row. To make a single crochet, insert hook into the stitch or space you are using, draw the yarn over the hook and pull up a loop. Draw the yarn over again and pull through both loops on the hook. This is row 1.

      Make four chain stitches. Skip one single crochet, make two double crochets in the next single crochet, make one chain stitch. Repeat to last single crochet. Make one double crochet in last single crochet. To make a double crochet, draw yarn over the hook and insert into the stitch or space you are using. Pull up a loop. Draw yarn over and through two loops on the hook. Draw yarn over and through the last two loops on the hook. This is row 2.
