How to Wear BDU Pants

BDU stands for battle dress uniform, and it's the traditional combat uniform for the United States armed forces. BDUs are also worn by paramilitary police forces, including SWAT teams and riot squads. Wearing a set of BDU pants is not a hard thing to do, but you do need to take care they fit properly, and to wear them with a proper pair of combat boots to achieve both the right look and the right fit.

Instructions

1. Select a pair of BDU pants that are in your size. Check both the pant length and the waist size before you put them on.

2. Put your BDU pants on. Button the fly and test the fit. Your pants should feel comfortable, and they shouldn't fit you tightly. You should be able to fill your pockets while you're wearing BDU pants.

3. Tie the strings at the bottom of your pants. The cuffs should be snug, but not tight. You should still have full movement of your ankle, and you should have your socks on under the pants before you tie them.
